Proline's Externship Training is a 6-month (24 Weeks) program for recent Accounting graduates in Houston, Texas. This opportunity will only consider local and recent 2017/2018 graduates.
The training program will focus on different aspects of the Oil and Gas business including: Revenues, Accounts Payable, Regulatory, and all other Accounting related tasks. What to expect?
Proline Externship Program will expose the candidates to oil and gas operations, with measurable and reasonable tasks commensurable to entry-level accounting duties. The candidates will be training in a fast-paced environment and provided with a lot of responsibilities and are expected to assist with new and developing projects as well as to contribute to existing projects. All externs are paired with a Supervisor or Mentor whose primary role is to provide guidance, assistance, and encouragement. At the end of the program, externs will be equipped to assess their potential career interest with Proline and to determine if Proline is indeed the right fit for you.
Prior to beginning an externship assignment, all externs will be required to meet the pre-employment eligibility and enrollment requirements as well as to participate in Proline’s pre-employment screening requirements. All externs will be provided with a copy of the Proline Employee Manual and prior to commencing, must complete and sign all pre-employment paperwork and all relevant forms and acknowledgments, including but not limited to, personnel policy acknowledgment, harassment, nondiscrimination, and waiver of liability release form (as applicable).
Additionally, externs will be provided with:

A direct Supervisor and Mentor to provide extern with any and all relevant information to enable and foster a successful experience

Upon the completion of the 6 months program, there could potentially be an offer to extend the training or convert to permanent staff, solely based on performance and business needs at the discretion of Proline, however, this is not guaranteed.
Qualifications
Externship positions require a motivated individual with good communication skills, great work ethics and the ability to work well in a team. Preference will be given to individuals with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
Position Summary:
6-month Externship Program (24 Weeks) Training Program Extern to be introduced to different aspects of the business:
Accounts Payable

Sort, code, and upload invoices
-
Verify, process and upload invoices for payment
-
Correspond with vendors and respond to inquiries
-
Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
-
Audit vendors as necessary
Accounting
-
Request appropriate documentation and set up vendors into the system

Prepare incoming checks for bank deposit
-
Reconcile revenue bank statements
Regulatory
-
Support Performs tasks, as assigned, to ensure Well compliance
-
File required state reports
-
Explore public databases to extract the required data
Revenue Accounting
-
Provide Management Support as Needed
-
Process Revenue and Joint Interest Billing for all Proline Wells, Print Checks and Statements for Owners

General Accounting: Deposits, General Journal, General Ledger

Work with Management on Closing Statements / Acquisitions
-
File Owner Relations documents: Division Orders, Owners Emails, Legal Transfers
-
Create Owner Decks for all New Wells / Acquisitions & Print for Mailing

Support the AFE’s Process – Revenue, Penalty Decks, AFE Invoices
-
Account for all 3rd party changes

Work with Engineering Team on Acquisitions, Revenue, and Proline Processes

Support with all Property Tax tasks
-
Upload and Verify Overhead (OH), Field Supervision (FS) and Insurance (Ins)
General

Provide Management Support as Needed

Support with the preparation of 3rd Party & Tracking 3rd Party Transactions

Support Division Order Changes & Processing
-
File Property Tax Protests, Renditions, and Work with Appraisals Firms on Tax Evaluation Settlements

Land – Minimum Royalties, Surface Agreements

Owner Relations

Property Tax Renditions
Program Requirements
Externs must complete an externship application and externship agreement and must meet the pre-employment training and enrollment requirements. Externs must sign a Waiver of Liability Release, agreeing to assume any risk of injury that may occur while rendering services to Proline. The externship application, resume, and signed internship agreement will be kept on file by the Human Resources Department.
Additionally, all externs must be:

A citizen of the United States, or, must be legally authorized to work or study in the United States. Proof of citizenship or authorization will be documented during the training and orientation process.

18 years of age or older
-
Recent Accounting graduate – either bachelors or masters
-
GPA: 3.0 minimum required.
